Welcome to the Farmhouse, a medieval thatched farmhouse built in 1482, that was the main home for the farm residence for over 650 years.
Walk through the Georgian door into the hallway and into the living area which still has the 15th-century original stone flooring. You will see the large inglenook fireplace with its original bread oven and large wood burner, perfect to sit with a book, watch the TV or enjoy a glass of wine!
The large farmhouse kitchen features hand-built oak units and granite working surfaces; in the middle, you’ll find a large 18th-century pine table, fully equipped to cook and service full dinner for up to 9 guests. We have added some modern amenities, including a microwave, fridge freezer, oven, dishwasher and washer-dryer. The table overlooks the French windows that open out to the private garden and patios with spectacular views.
The main bedrooms are upstairs where you will see the 12-inch-thick walls and further views of the valley. All bedrooms upstairs have en-suite bathrooms. There is a downstairs bedroom with three single beds with toilet facilities that are suitable for less able guests.
The large south-facing private garden features a dining patio area, outside seating and glorious views across the Dorset countryside to Charmouth and the sea. Excellent walks are quite literally on your doorstep, along with the unspoilt Dorset/East Devon coastline, just 2 miles away.
We stayed in the Barn with a lovely 4 poster bed which was special. The hosts were so helpful and made our stay feel like we owned the place! We held BBQs on the lawn over looking the valley. It was lovely to feel surrounded by all our close friends and family on such a special Occasion. Thank you for making our wedding perfect.

The place was so very clean and welcoming. It was home from home with lots of space, fully furnished with everything you need. We are looking to go back next year, I would highly recommend The Barn such a very peaceful with beautiful place to relax and unwind with breath taking scenery.

The Farmhouse is full of the character you'd expect in a 14th Century property. Blackbird is a very well converted farm building. En suite bathrooms, log burners. Everything we wanted. All set in beautiful Dorset countryside and 5 mins to the coast. What's not to love. We'll be back!

We stayed in a group of 6 and everything was cleaned and well organised. The aga takes some getting used to, but it was great to have a bbq to enjoy the last bit of sun of this year. The kids loved the shared swimming pool and horse.
